I Get By

Tethered in a dark corner of the 'sales barn', when she glanced upward, her beautiful face was without expression. A yellow tag numbered her among many who would be auctioned off into a fate of which they would have no say. 

When we bid, the kill broker bid, and so it went until the gavel fell to Unbridled. Her name is I GET BY. 

The wonderful people who give to Unbridled, made it possible to not only to save her life, but also the innocent unborn foal she is carrying.

How I GET BY ended up at the Unadilla Auction we may never know. We do know that in July 2022, she was in Texas. She sold through an online disperal in foal to DORRANCE where she was purchased by Sierra Wilson in Massachusetts. 

At the young age of 7, I GET BY has seen and traveled much. She sold for $35,000 as a yearling through Keeneland, experienced multiple owners and locations.  

She is tall and stately and reticent to make any connection. At Unbridled, we hold space for mares like I GET BY. When she is ready to show us who she is, our hearts will embrace her and help her to heal and become whole.
